Granny Unblocked: What the Original Is and What Actually Plays in a Browser

Published · 2 min read

Type "Granny unblocked" into a search bar and you get dozens of pages that promise the game. Most do not deliver what the name suggests. Here is what Granny is, what those pages actually run, and what plays on this site.

The original Granny

Granny was made by DVloper, a small indie developer from Sweden, and released for phones in 2017 and on PC soon after. The idea is simple: you wake up in a locked house, an old woman with a bat hunts you by sound, and you have five days to find the tools and keys that open the way out. It became one of the most-watched horror games on YouTube and led to Granny: Chapter Two, where her husband Grandpa joins in, and Granny 3.

DVloper never released a browser version. Granny is sold on the mobile app stores and on Steam.

What "Granny unblocked" pages load

Usually one of three things: an old Unity copy of uncertain origin, a different fan game with Granny in the title, or a page that frames someone else's site and breaks as soon as that site changes. This domain did the last one for years — its old page framed a copy hosted elsewhere that now shows nothing but "Invalid domain".

What plays here: Granny Horror

Granny Horror is a browser game published by Azgames.io in 2025, and it is honest about what it is: its own game built on Granny's idea. You start in a dim wooden house with a grey-haired old woman carrying a bloody bat. The tip screen gives you the rules — be quiet, she hears everything, dropped items make noise, hold F to get out of bear traps, hide under beds or in cabinets, you have five days. Before each run you choose Normal difficulty (with a chance of a bonus day), Extra locks, Nightmare and Dark mode.

It runs as Unity WebGL in the tab, from this site's own server, so it does not vanish when somebody else's host goes down. The first visit downloads about 75 MB once.

How it compares

What carries over is the heart of Granny: sound as the only thing that matters, hiding as your only defence, and a house you learn day by day. What differs is the house itself, the exact items and the route out — you cannot follow a walkthrough for DVloper's game here. Treat it as its own house and the guide on this blog will serve you better.

Granny Horror 2 has its own page too. There, as in Granny: Chapter Two, the old woman is not alone.

At school

Nothing needs installing, and the game only needs a mouse and a keyboard, so it plays on most school Chromebooks. If a network filter blocks the site itself, that is a decision for the network's administrator — no page can honestly promise otherwise.

Granny is a trademark of DVloper; Granny Horror is by Azgames.io. This is an independent fan site, not affiliated with either.
